Candidiasis is when the yeast infection in your gastro-intestinal system (gut) have spread all over the body and manifest themselves as vaginitus in women or thrush on the tongue of a baby or toenail infection in men..   Babies can pick up yeast infection from their mothers. It is called thrush and can be in the mouth or tongue of baby.  Creams and ointments are temporary cures at best.  The yeast infection must be cured in the gut so they don't keep spreading around the body as candidiasis. You must eat the right foods, avoid eating bad foods that promote yeast, balance your P/H, and take in foods that nourish the good bacteria. Unfortunately yeast are everywhere: in the air, in lakes and in the soil. Yeast are normal in the gut but too much bad yeast in the gut can overwhelm your body.  Passing gas (farting) is a sign you have yeast.  The more gas you pass, the more of a yeast problem you have.  Too much yeast infection means too many toxins are being left in your body and your immune system can be overwhelmed by them.    Eating lots of immunity foods is important.  The yellow and orange foods are immunity boosters like: papaya, turmeric, sweet potatoes, yams and yellow squash. P/H balance is an important part of a yeast cure.  Disease happens in an acidic body.  Meats, starches (like potatoes, bread) sugars (anything sweet) are all acidic.  As a general rule vegetables are alkaline (base).  The alkaline foods can balance the P/H of your body.  On a scale off 1` to 14, 7 is right in the middle and you want a P/H of 7.4 (slightly alkaline  Therefor eat lots of vegetables with your meal.  Robert O. Young, PhD, has written a really good book: The P/H Miracle about this subject.   The most alkaline food on planet earth is wakame, a sea vegetable (seaweed). Sea vegetables have all kinds of minerals that are in the sea but frequently not found in the plants grown in soil.

   Brewer's yeast, bakers yeast, vitamins and minerals unless labeled  yeast free,antibiotics, penicillin, peanuts and pistachio  usually contain mold which feeds yeast,  all sugar containing foods and sweeteners, alcohol fermented liquors, malt products, milk drinks, cereal and candy, condiments, sauces, vinegar containing foods, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, accent, monosodium glutamate, processed and smoked meats , dried and candied fruits, raisins, left overs (mold grows on left over food).

   There are many herbals that defeat candida yeast: red thyme, paul d'arco, garlic, caprillyc acid, grapefruit seed extract, chapparal (my favorite), tea tree oil, peppermint oiul,olive leaf and oregano oil.  Jerusalem artichokes (known as sunchokes in the western states) feed the good bacteria in your small intestine.  This can be bought at health food stores during winter months or you can grow your own if you live in a cold climate.

   Mucillaginous foods (sticky, gooey foods)  soothe the gut.  Folks who eat a lot of dairy, sugar,processed meats and white flour products build up mucous.  Laurel  Dewey says in her book, Plant Power says mucous starts in the sinuses, goes to the bronchial tubes, then stomach, then kidneys and ends up the the intestines and colon.  Fenugreek dislodges mucous and provides a soothing layer of relief for inflamed areas.  Chronic bronchitis, diverticulitis and constipation are from areas being blocked by heavy, toxic mucous.  Marshmallow root is another mucillaginous food. 

   Another important subject is eating the right foods the right  way..  I started Harvey Diamond's Fit for Life diet program many years ago.  It's about combining foods the rdight way so you will have good digestion.  Poteins like meat should not be eaten with starches (potatoes, bread, rice, etc.) at the same meal. Proteins take one type of acid for your stomach to digest them and starches take another type of acid so the two differfent acids will neutralize eachother if eaten together at the same meal.
